The Best of Denver’s Hostels

/

Curious which hostel you should choose on your Denver trip?? Check out my photos and then scroll to the end to read my reviews and thoughts on each of these places [I stayed in all three]!! Enjoy!

Hostel Fish: 1217 20th St. [I stayed in a 6-bed female room, $53]

11th Avenue Hostel: 1112 Broadway [I stayed in a 4-bed female room, $60]

Ember Hostel: 857 Grant St. [I stayed in an 8-bed female room, $70]

Safest Location: Ember Hostel

Most Convenient Location: Hostel Fish

Nicest Bathrooms [on a certain hallway]: 11th Avenue Hostel

Best Kitchen: 11th Avenue Hostel

Most comfortable bed: Ember Hostel, but Hostel Fish is a close runner-up

Most private: Ember Hostel [Hostel Fish was pretty private with bed curtains as well]

Best value: Hostel Fish

Front desk availability: Ember Hostel

Ambience: Hostel Fish

Amenities: Ember Hostel has a hot tub!

Drum roll please!!! If I was returning to Denver, I would probably stay at the Ember Hostel again because the bed was really comfy and private, the showers were really nice, the people at the front desk were very friendly and super available, the neighborhood seemed safer, AND there is a Trader Joe’s around the corner!

It’s possible that the 11th Avenue Hostel will improve…there was lots of construction going on. The bathrooms on my hall weren’t great, but when I walked down to the other end, they were much nicer. This place did have the nicest kitchen, but I didn’t think the location was safe at night [I took an Uber back after dark].

Hostel Fish was pretty cute and the cheapest price, and quite close to Union Station [not the best location at night], but their front desk staff weren’t always available and if you leave between the hours of 2-7am, you won’t be able to get back in.

Pro tip: Always check booking.com and hostelworld.com, but in many cases the prices are a bit lower on each of the hostel’s own websites [linked above].
