I have only recently become quite dialed in with Instagram’s finest PNW hiking influencers and have been very influenced and enlightened!! I hadn’t even heard of Maple Pass Loop before this season, but when photos of the larches and mountain views from this trail started to flood my feed, I decided it would be worth a trip! BOY HOWDY!
Yes, absolutely worth the drive up the North Cascades Hwy to the trailhead (we actually just parked on the side of Highway 20 because the trailhead was already full)! It’s a solid loop with a bit of elevation gain, so be prepared with your best hiking shoes and bring snacks/water!
As you can see, we enjoyed BLUE skies and SUNSHINE!!! What a glorious day we had up there.
Save 4-6 hours for this experience…you’ll probably hike around 7.5 miles, depending on what side treks you take. We hiked counter-clockwise which worked really well for the views and wasn’t terribly hard on our knees.
Five stars!! Highly recommended! One of my favorite hikes of all time, similar to this one in Wyoming with the expansive mountain views! Get outside and enjoy!!
