Best Hostel in Key West, Florida

/

Whenever I head to a new destination, the first place I go to research accommodations is hostelworld.com. Sometimes rates can be slightly less on the hostel’s own website, but Hostel World is such a great place to find a list of places to stay at a certain destination, and their photos and details are superb. Booking at hostelworld.com is also a piece of cake, often with free cancellation until a certain date before arrival. Much love for Hostel World.

So there are two hostels in Key West [that I could find], and I stayed at both of them [just for you]. I won’t be recommending the other one, but NYAH [Not Your Average Hotel] is good stuff. The ambience is really unbeatable, especially in the evenings. I just love their lighting and seating areas, etc. It’s super cute. There are many room options, from basic bunks to more private deluxe suites. They do have a continental breakfast and free coffee. My bed was comfy, the shower was hot, and they have free luggage lockers.

The location is really nice too, in a quiet residential area, really close to Duvall St. and other Old Town attractions. For the price, unbeatable! Especially when other accommodation options in Key West are pretty pricey. I can highly recommend NYAH and I’ll stay there again if I return to the area!

NYAH [Not Your Average Hotel]: 420 Margaret St. Key West, FL [I stayed in a 4-bed mixed room, $67]

For the sake of full disclosure, I just looked at prices again for upcoming dates and I am kind-of shocked…prices have gone up since I stayed there! Maybe there are only good deals in Jan or Feb? idk Why do all the great places have to be so expensive?! :p

Last thing — I really wanted to hammock camp in the Florida Keys, but it’s nearly impossible to get a reservation at one of the state parks. If anyone has insider info about this, please let me know! #frugaltravel
